PRC Expands Hummingbird Place Program at San Francisco General Hospital, Nearly Doubling to 29 Beds
San Francisco Mayor, London Breed, recently announced a significant expansion to the Hummingbird Place from 15 to 29 beds, where PRC works closely with adults facing
homelessness, mental health and substance use challenges who are also considering treatment. The program introduces clients to a multi-disciplinary system of care. PRC staff manage access to recovery and wellness conversations, activities and programs in a homelike environment. The San Francisco-based organization is using a grant from the City and County of San Francisco to expand capacity at the 24-hour facility, located on the campus of Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. PRC and San Francisco partnered in 2017 to open the original 15-bed overnight facility as part of the City’s Navigation Center system.
