For the fifth consecutive year, PRC is celebrating its most important asset – its staff – who work hard throughout the year to provide high-quality, impactful services to community members who need them most.

Advocacy Day

PRC’s initiative, the Black Leadership Council (BLC), hosts its fifth annual
Advocacy Day, “Black In Action”, an exciting opportunity for BLC members to meet
with state leaders in Sacramento to discuss policy issues core to improving
outcomes for Black Californians.

Past years have included a full day of meetings with elected officials and state
department leads, media coverage, and even a co-sponsored masquerade ball with
the California Legislative Black Caucus and the California Black Legislative Staff
Association!

PRC’s signature annual fundraising event is named after the “Queen of Disco” Sylvester’s song,
“You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)”, to honor our visionary benefactor.

This celebration demonstrates all the ways in which PRC transforms lives and features
opportunities to hear from clients, an exciting live auction, and Fund a Need, fabulous
performances, and a chance to socialize with everyone from political dignitaries to drag divas.

Season of Renewal Celebration

PRC’s programs are based on the model of social rehabilitation: recovery in community. We know that social isolation is prevalent in our client community during the winter months, which is why it’s so important to foster social connections at that time of year.  

More than a gathering of PRC staff, volunteers, and clients, the Season of Renewal Celebration is key to the rehabilitation process and creates a vital sense of community for clients who are too often excluded from traditional winter gatherings. Featuring music, entertainment, games, raffles, and refreshments, clients gain something so simple yet so taken for granted: a sense of joy, wonder, and belonging.

Volunteer Activations
Quarterly

We know the best healing occurs in nurturing environments, which is why our residential services for mental health and substance use disorders offer clients a homelike environment for treatment and healing to occur.

We also know that our supporters want to give more than monetary contributions: they want to give their time! That’s why we launched our series of quarterly volunteer activations. From clearing overgrown backyards to painting living rooms and kitchens, volunteers are making a visual impact on our residential sites, connecting deeply with PRC’s mission and each other, and having a great time while they’re at it!

Whether you would like to commit your company’s employees to join or simply support the individuals undertaking this important work, join us! Your support purchases paint, furniture and furnishings, and other supplies to create healing spaces throughout all our program areas.
