Join longtime volunteer Stan in helping others

Volunteering with PRC has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life!

Dear Friend,

My journey volunteering with PRC began more than 30 years ago with the grassroots efforts of the AIDS Emergency Fund (AEF), now PRC’s Emergency Financial Assistance (EFA) program. Their mission was simple yet powerful: to support those in crisis with dignity and compassion.

I cherish the memories of volunteering at the annual AEF Christmas Eve Dinner. For 30 years this beloved event offered a festive meal and a sense of family to those spending what was likely their last Christmas— with us. As volunteer coordinator, it was my privilege to be part of so many people’s lives.  I still hold dear the smiles and laughter as guests visited Santa Claus, a fellow volunteer who listened with kindness as people shared their heartfelt Christmas wishes, sometimes as basic as a safe home. For many, we were their chosen family during their most difficult moments.

Those experiences led me to meet many great people whom I’ve deeply appreciated working with to help support others in our community. That is why I admire the work that PRC does. They’re helping people secure housing, job training, and ultimately independence. It’s incredibly rewarding knowing I’ve contributed to an organization that brings hope and smiles to so many.

As a longtime volunteer, I am proud to continue supporting PRC’s mission, including as part of the revamped Community Winter Celebration, honoring AEF’s Christmas dinner legacy of compassion and connection.

As the year ends, I invite you to join me in supporting this vital work through a year-end donation. Your gift provides relief and helps build brighter futures for those in our community.

Together, we can make sure the support is there when others need it most.

Thank you for being a vital part of our community.
