After more than 20 years of remarkable and dedicated service to PRC/Baker Places, our esteemed Chief Clinical Officer, John Fostel, is embarking on a well-deserved retirement journey. To mark this incredible achievement and honor John’s dedication to extraordinary public service, community members from cross-sectors throughout the Bay Area filled PRC’s headquarters for a truly wonderful celebration.
John’s contributions, spanning more than four decades in psychiatric and addiction healthcare, have positively impacted thousands of lives. His leadership in residential crisis stabilization, substance use disorder treatment, and outpatient supportive living programs have significantly influenced the modern evolution of mental health and recovery services.
This event was a testament to the profound impact that John has had on our organization and beyond. The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and joy as speeches were delivered by political figures, community partners, colleagues, and friends. Heartfelt words and personal stories reflected the admiration and respect John garnered throughout his career and underscored his special talent for making difficult situations manageable, especially for clients. Through shared laughter, filled hearts, and hugs, it was evident that John’s service exemplifies a treasure chest of wisdom that will always be accessible to his colleagues. As John embarks on this new and exciting chapter of his life, we express our heartfelt congratulations and sincere appreciation for all that he has done. The legacy he leaves behind is celebrated not only by PRC/Baker Places but also by the broader community and those who gathered to honor his remarkable career. He’s left an indelible mark that has shaped the success of our organization for years to come.
John also helped prepare his successor for a smooth transition. We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Jessica Winterrowd as Chief Clinical Officer. Having worked closely with John for many years, Jessica’s dedication and skills have been on display for some time and were also acknowledged during the festivities. As Director of Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Programs Melida Solorzano shared, “Jessica has big shoes to fill, replacing John, but we promise to take care of her.”
John, your retirement celebration was a fitting tribute to a career filled with humor, expertise, and unwavering commitment. Thank you for 20 years of incredible service. Congratulations once again, and may this next chapter be filled with new adventures and well-deserved relaxation.
Congratulations and thank you for 20 years of incredible service John! We love you!
