John Fostel

John comes to PRC with over forty years of combined experience in psychiatric and addiction healthcare, having managed both hospital-based and community-non-profit-based mental health and substance use disorder programs. Contributing to the modern evolution in mental health and addiction healthcare, he has been a part of the movement from the de-institutionalization of the 1980’s to the community-based, individualized, whole person care models of today. Joining Baker Places, Inc., in 2004, he has held leadership roles in the organization’s residential crisis stabilization, substance use disorder, and outpatient supportive living programs.

He received a bachelor’s degree from State University of New York and a master’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey, and is a certified addiction treatment counselor.
