LiftUp Peer & NextStep Office Trainings Orientation

This workshop is an orientation about two extended training programs offered by the Workforce Development Program: 1) the LiftUp Peer training and certification program and 2) the NextStep MS Office 4-week training program. PRC’s comprehensive, 4-week course in MS Office. LiftUp is an occupational skills training aimed at peer-to-peer professions in direct service settings. Participants gain key peer-specialist skills that are transferable to careers in health care, clinical/mental health services, AIDS service organizations, senior services, supportive services, and housing services, to name a few. These skills –and the lived-experience which peers already possess– can lead trainees to meaningful and empowering work (and better employment opportunities) in the social services field. NextStep provides more than 50 hours of instruction to provide proficiency in the desktop, the Internet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook (email & calendar), Access and Google Suite.
